Quietness!!!

Hi everyone! I have a few questions for you today ...

When you hear the words calm, still, and quiet, what do they mean to you?

Do you remember the last time you remained silent in God's presence?

If you could describe that moment, how would you describe it?

I have been reflecting a lot on how busy our lives are nowadays. After long hours at work, we jump onto the next thing on our list: we take care of the kids and the house and then go to bed exhausted and wake up to repeat the same cycle. Weeks and years pass by without us being able to slow down! While almost every one of us lives and works under very different circumstances than before the pandemic, we still do not have time for anything. We become restless and look for something to keep us busy if we get any free time since being busy nowadays is the norm!

Before the pandemic, it was normal to have an agenda filled with appointments, school activities, children's sports activities, household chores, overtime at work, volunteering at school, church activities and events, and in between this super hectic schedule, one had to take some time to be a mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter, a sister, a mentor, a woman... it went on and on... Despite a different agenda since COVID, we still cannot find the time and it is still very common to hear the words 'I am so busy'.

Dear friends, this is not the life God wants for us.

Today, I want to encourage you to pause and reflect on this verse.

Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your reading as you go even deeper and read the whole Chapter 10 of John.chapter 10 of John .

John 10:10(b) "I came that they may have life and have it abundantly"

I would like to challenge everyone today to take the time to laugh, sit down and be silly with your kids, go to a park, contemplate nature, look at the plants, flowers, trees, and lakes and breathe!!! BREATHE!!! Take a listen to your favourite music or, if you are a musician, take up your instrument and compose a song. If you enjoy singing, learn a new song. Try a new recipe and surprise your family. Get the family together and go for an outdoor activity. Whatever you like, just do it, enjoy it, and keep these moments close to your heart. Don't fill up your agenda with appointments that don't leave any room for you to be yourself, to be the person God created you to be.

In days, weeks, months, and years from now, the agendas will be replaced and even thrown away, but the memories will last. Make the most of every opportunity and live the abundant life God has for you.

I don't know what your days, weeks, weekends, etc. should look like. As far as I am concerned, God has the best for each of us, so living according to our God-given agenda can only be achieved by seeking Him first. He is the only one to show us where our priorities are, and our only part will be to trust Him and dare to be different from the crowd and the world's standards.

Be still, and know that He is God!

Amen!
