A humble Christmas! Advent 2020 Day 27

Advent Scripture reading Day 27. December 25th

After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.(NIV)

Reflecting on the humble King born in a manger!

Jesus humbled himself when He came to us as a baby, showing us a lot about humility. This Christmas season, let us seek God and ask Him to show us more about this humility.

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Today's activity!

The ultimate gift.

Christmas is all about the gift of God to all of us. In John 3:16 it says '16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.'(NIV)

God gave us His Son, Jesus, Immanuel, the Wonderful Counsellor, the Morning Star, the Prince of Peace..

He came into the world as a baby, and grew up to die on the cross for us. The weight of our sins was put on Him, and because He loves us, He laid down His life so we might live and have the privilege of being called children of God. In 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV) it says: 'God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.'

This Christmas, I pray that while we are unwrapping our gifts, we unwrap the most important of all, Jesus.

If you do not him personally, I invite you to confess your sins and accept Him as Your saviour.

1 John 1:9 (NIV)If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If ever you have any questions, you can reach out to me here, and I will glad to respond.

I hope you have enjoyed this journey as much as I did. I have to admit that I have personally learned a lot through all the scripture reading, the research, the hundreds of songs I have listened to, all the different sermons I have watched online and the tremendous amount fun organising the activities. I am already looking forward to next year's Advent season, and wonder what God has in store for us in 2021.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Blessings,

Emma
