Last December, I unexpectedly heard words no one wants to hear.
There I was, facing a diagnosis I certainly didn’t see coming. After two months of testing, with no apparent symptoms, living life fully, dreaming, juggling projects, the results came back: breast cancer.
While this is a challenging season, I felt compelled to write about my journey. Does that even surprise you? I don’t think so 💛.
I have affectionately named this story Dandelion Whispers 🌸echoes of my heart, a collection of words and reflections in the midst of trial.
Over the next few weeks, and for as long as I am able, I will be sharing pieces of this story: moments of struggle, hope, self-discovery, and lessons learned, and what this experience has been teaching me.
December 9th, two days before my birthday, everything changed. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know this: even in the uncertainty, I am choosing to share my heart with the world.
I share this not because it’s easy, but because I believe that if my story reaches even one heart, reminds one person to pause, to breathe, or to hold on, you’ve already walked a little piece of this journey with me.
This place is simply me sharing my story. I am not here to prove anything, defend anything, or contradict anyone else’s experience or perspective. I may share parts of the medical journey, or I may not. What I choose to share will be what I am learning, what I am processing, and how I am walking through this season.
I deeply respect everyone who has walked through a life-threatening diagnosis, illness, or trial of any kind. No two journeys are the same. We all carry our stories differently, heal differently, grieve differently, and grow differently. This is not a space of solutions or answers. It is a space of truth, reflection, and presence.
More whispers from my heart are coming.
With love,
Emmanuella
